Welcome to the Lincoln Cultural Quarter blogspot

The City of Lincoln has a long tradition as a regional centre for creative people.

Artists and designers live and work in the city and their skills not only enrich the local economy but inspire Lincoln’s cultural scene as well.

The performing arts also add an exciting vibrancy to the culture of the City.

Lincoln's Cultural Quarter, the area incorporating the Collection, the Usher Art Gallery, Lincoln Drill Hall and the Terrace Creative Industries building, provides a creative hub for local cultural activity.

The Theatre Royal, Central Library, Lincoln College and the Lincolnshire County Archive further enrich the cultural theme of the area. Great pubs, clubs and restaurants, as well as an emerging café culture, all add to the mix to make it a great place to be.

On this blog you will find links to the main facilities in the area and up to the minute news of what's going on in the area.
Link up with us and be sure of a warm welcome in Lincoln’s Cultural Quarter.

Lincoln Drill Hall Highlights November

"Lincoln Drill Hall November 09

What treats we have in store for November! We don't believe in doing things by halves so once again we're full to the brim with fantastic events!

DANCE

Our 'must see' event has to be Retina Dance Company's stunning new show 'Antipode' (12 Nov.) Retina is a contemporary dance company that specialises in creating choreography that excites and astounds.

FILM

We've got 2 astounding British films to complete our 'Made In Lincolnshire' series – first, the celebrated 'This In England' (2 Nov) which won BEST FILM at the British Independent Film Awards 2006.

Then as our Armistice Day tribute, we're showing the classic war film 'The Dam Busters'
(11 Nov,) preceded by readings of war poetry by the Deputy mayor and local school children in the Armoury Café Bar from 7pm. Veterans and current serving members of the Armed Forces will be in attendance so it’s sure to be a very special evening. Tickets are strictly limited so please book soon to avoid disappointment. All proceeds will go to the Poppy Appeal."
